Family Business
Two generations and counting...
James Spencer created and founded Environmental Detectives, Inc. in 1990. By then he had been a Certified Asbestos Consultant for about 7 years. His goal when he started the company was to created employment and business opportunities in his community. Over the years, Environmental Detectives have trained over 40 asbestos and lead field representatives and employed over 50% of those trained.
Spencer positioned Environmental Detectives to be one of the leading Environmental Consulting firms in southern California. His clients include hospitals, school districts, major retail facilities, Developers, Insurance Companies, Architects and various construction operations. Environmental Detectives has provided these clients proficient asbestos, lead and mold services over the past 30-years.
In 2015, James Spencer stepped down as CEO and turned the company over to his eldest child, Brittany Spencer-Moore. Under Brittany’s leadership the company name was altered to Environmental Detective, Inc. (without the “s”). Her focus is building the companies capacity to secure larger contracts. Brittany’s younger brothers Bradley (COO), and Bryson (CFO) assist in the day-to-day operations of family business.
